I was out with the dog before 6 AM today and was rewarded with lovely early-morning views over the Devon countryside. These are the first photos taken with my new iPhone 14 Pro.

First time on the estuary in our new (to us) kayak. Almost didnβt get back because the tide was on its way out. No one wants to do the walk of shame, dragging the boat through the mud!
Finally! This awful man has sucked up too much air time and newsprint.
I took this photo of St. Andrew’s Church in Aveton Gifford, Devon, on this morning’s walk with the dog. What a great way to start the day!

YES! Boris Johnson resigns as an MP with immediate effect. Open a bottle of the good stuff. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live…

I think it’ll need a couple of listens before I make my mind up. Listen on Spotify. πΆ
I enjoyed the first episode of “The Gallows Pole” on the BBC yesterday. It’s the tale of the rise of David Hartley and the Cragg Vale Coiners. Set in the moorland hills of 18th Century Yorkshire, the drama follows the enigmatic David Hartley as he assembles a gang of weavers and land-workers to embark upon a revolutionary criminal enterprise that will capsize the economy and become the biggest fraud in British history.
I haven’t read the book, but I suspect it doesn’t end well for the Coiners…
The soundtrack is available on BBC Sounds and on Spotify.
Had a great morning messing about on the river with friends. We kayaked from Bantham to the weir above Aveton Gifford, where we stopped for lunch. πΆ
